Glee has quickly become my new favorite show. I giggle and have to try to explain to my husband why every part of the show is so great. (He began to dislike it back in the fall when Kurt joined the football team and did his field kick to “All the Single Ladies,” Beyonce dance and all.) It is such a great show because it does a great job depicting real high school kids, and it is incredibly honest. I am in love with the character of Rachel Berry in all her awkwardness. It may be her wardrobe, from the pleated skirts and sweaters to the fantastic little dresses, I would wear it all. But last week she said how she just desperately wants to be popular, and how could you not just smile and think “yep.” I wasn’t in glee club in high school, but I was far from popular. Maybe I love Glee so much because all the unpopular kids are together and have their moments. Maybe I like it because of Rachel Berry. Maybe its the fabulous musical numbers that I rewind on the DVR over and over and over. Maybe it is because I wish I could sing well and these kids all can really, really sing. Whatever it is, Glee never disappoints.
You should watch it.
